22.12.08 evening - Bag packing @ Morrisons Cortonwood. Please let me know who can come & make some money as I have to let Morrisons know if we can do it!
Valentine runaround - let me know of your wanting to attend by 06.01.09 as I have to let the organisers know to book your travel passes etc.
I need to know who's interested in going to Apex next year to start making arrangements etc
Thinking about the North Yorkshire Jamboree, I am sorry but it would cost nearly a thousand pounds to take my family, as that is the only way to spend a week's time off. For a thousand pounds I can have a proper holiday not having to work - so I cannot do!
Possible dates for Level 4 First Aid training for Explorer Scouts in Jan/Feb at the moment are evening
17th or 18th Jan
7th or 8th Feb
14th or 15th Feb

Valentine Runaround
The 2009 Winter Runaround will take place Saturday 14th February and for one year only, it has become “Valentine” Runaround. If you have not taken part before ask someone who has; it's is a lot of fun, at a time of year when outdoor activities are limited.
Runaround is a big widegame where the playing area is the whole of South Yorkshire. You are supplied with a one-day travel pass valid for all South Yorkshire’s public transport, and you have fun finding your way to places and doing a variety of challenges. The finish is at Hesley Wood Activity Centre where you will have your tea and meet up with the other teams.
Re-posted from ROSYs (County Newsletter), not yet online.

Young Leader - Training Opportunity
Two training weekends for those carrying out the role of Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leader), or those who are supporting the Young Leaders’ Scheme. Taking place Spring 2009 at Gilwell Park, near London, and in Leeds. Email the Programme team for more information.
Update from Headquarters, 3 Dec:
The weekend will be for the specific role of the Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leader) and developing their skills with the delivery of and development of the scheme. It will not be looking at how Section Leaders work with Young leaders in their colony, pack or troop. If you are in the position of looking at moving into this role then the weekend will certainly be beneficial to you. We are hoping to be able to confirm the dates for both venues within the next two weeks.
